2022.01.27 03:07 ramooooma It’s disappointing seeing how many people comment to get a divorce on this subreddit.
Marriage is not easy, I get it. I’m married and there’s days I wanna tear my hair out. But it seems like anytime anyone is having a rough time with their spouse on here, one of the top comments is something along the lines of “get a divorce.” Call me old fashioned but I feel like short of being in an abusive or adulterous marriage, most problems can be worked out. I’m not saying they can be fixed overnight or that it won’t be difficult. I’m just saying that as long as both partners want to make the marriage work, there can be a way to do that, and that should be the first option. What ever happened to in sickness and in health? For richer or for poorer? For better or for worse? Are they just empty words to read to make a spectacle on your wedding day? Marriage is difficult. It’s not all sunshine and rainbows, and no one should ever enter a marriage thinking that. When you get married you should be prepared to love a complete stranger, cause chances are they will change so much in the years you’re with them. Marriage today has become all about happiness and self fulfillment- and the second people find themselves unhappy and that their partners are no longer fulfilling them, they think it’s time to end it. I don’t think marriage is all about happiness. Back in the old times people understood that, and that’s why divorce rates were so much lower. Marriage is about sacrifice- it’s about giving part of yourself away to someone, over and over again, without expecting anything back in return. That is the greatest form of love. I feel like I’ll get a lot of back lash from this but whatever I feel like it needs to be said. If you want a good book about the meaning of marriage I suggest you read “the meaning of marriage” by Tim Keller. It might just change the way you think in your marriage, and save it. Blessings to all of you in your marriages!

2022.01.27 03:07 JinAttila [Question] How many European-based K-pop fans do we have here?
Greetings ladies & gentlemen, and anyone in between.
I have noticed that there are very limited options for K-pop enthusiasts to participate in events, not too many concerts being held in Europe, and official fan clubs are usually geographically restricted to Asia, and almost often even down to just Korea, China, or Japan specifically.
So I was wondering how many fans have we got here in Europe? My assumption would be that there should be enough people, despite K-pop not exactly being among the higher ranking genres here, to put on some pressure on the K-pop industry to finally pay some attention to other markets than their domestic ones.
Besides that, I would also like to get to know people that are physically closer situated to me, in case we were to potentially try and create an event, unofficial Fanclub, or anything in between, so we could voice in and potentially have our voices heard - as it's simply not viable for everyone to fly across the world in order to enjoy a live event.
Personally, I am situated in Scandinavia, and no I don't mind nor exclude anyone just because they're not Europe-based, but in this specific case, it would just be a tad bit more convenient to organize.

Today my sister was at the store and as she was leaving a little boy was asking for a few dollars from people walking out. My sister asked what he needed & got him those items. But what breaks my heart is his story…
He is a 16 YOM who ran away from foster care. He lived at a place with many foster parents and kids. However these ppl are doing it for money and on top of that are RAPING the kids!!!! He has called the cops and they are unable to do anything about it… like WTF!!! These poor children!
How is the state of CA able to give money so freely to people who are claiming unemployment, who have multiple kids JUST to collect section 8 money. But they leave these kids high and dry. If my tax dollars went to helping out the kids in the foster care system I wouldn’t be mad that I get taxed 40% every fucking pay check. Im not saying leave those who are low income, disabled, etc. to starve and die but we NEED A BETTER SYSTEM. How is it that section 8 gets to use their EBT to buy lobster and steak?
Truly our system is fucked up. If we help the low income they need to live within their budget. If you want money, show that you’re working, part time or full time. If you don’t work or attempt to work, then the money is cut. If you can’t work volunteer to clean up the place. DO SOMETHING. In life they say nothing is free, but clearly in CA that is a lie. There’s no incentive to work when you get free money each month…. Seriously the way to make it in CA is either be super rich or super poor and that’s not right!! We need a better system & we need to invest our tax dollars better. We should be helping KIDS. They are our future. MAKE IT MAKE SENSE CA.

2022.01.27 03:07 oplolig Matched with someone but he said he went to prison before
I (21f) just matched with a guy (25m) on tinder and it was hitting off pretty good. I thought it was too good to be true and then of course…bam! He ended up telling me that he wanted to let me know beforehand that he had went to prison for a year after robbing someone in the past and that he’d learnt his lesson already. He also added that he doesn’t even dare to drive past a stop sign, because of how much he’s changed.
In all honesty, I feel kinda weird and don’t know if him going to prison for a year is truly a red flag or if I’m just being too judge-mental. But I mean if my parents found out that my future boyfriend was an ex-convict, they’d disapprove 100%. Currently don’t know what to do next. We’ve only been talking for a day, if that helps

2022.01.27 03:07 LadyDulcea9873 Trade our only vehicle for a motorcycle? Ummm NO
This happened back in the early 90’s. I (18f) had been given my mom’s car, a 1986 Ford Thunderbird when she upgraded to a smaller car. I absolutely loved that car. It was metallic silver exterior and a burgundy interior. I had been married to my then 21m) husband for about 6 months and we were expecting our first baby within a few months. My ex was a very easily angered guy and he was used to being able to harass me into always doing what he wanted, even if it meant selling or trading something of mine for something he wanted. Late one evening, he comes in all excited from one of his buddies homes and was demanding the title to my car. It was in my name only. When I asked why, he said he met a guy that wanted my car and would trade him straight up for a motorcycle. As I said before, this was our only mode of transportation and there was no way we could take a newborn on a motorcycle. I told him absolutely not. He got physical with me then screamed in my face that he already made the trade and I WAS going to get the title and sign it. Now my mom, who didn’t trust my ex due to things he had done while we were dating, had decided that when she gave me the car she was having the title in both of our names. I thought it kind of controlling at the time, but thanks to her foresight, I knew he wouldn’t be able to do his trade. I did end up with facial bruises after I told him, but my car didn’t go anywhere. However my ex being the vindictive person he was, somehow managed to cause the motor in a perfect running thunderbird to blow with a few months. He then informed me he was going to use it in a demo derby. My mom, however, had the car towed to my brothers garage the next morning early. So he didn’t get to even do that. Needless to say, he and I divorced within two years…and he threw a fit when he found out when we walked out of the courthouse that my brother had replaced the motor in the thunderbird and I got it back that day.

2022.01.27 03:07 Techknightly To the Regulators - Do the right thing.
The Times: How sweet obliviousness might be… Before COVID, we had a glimpse of how corrupt our financial system was, but it wasn’t too blatantly apparent as a new President followed on the heels of the 2008 fiscal crisis, while his supporters hoped for the change that he touted at baseball stadiums, modern day coliseums and stadiums around the country, he was lining the pockets of his supporters, friends, pals Hedge Fund Managers, Market Makers, Financial Giants like Ken Griffin whom he pointed out on more than one occasion loudly from his Presidential podium.
“I promise to drain the swamp!” he shouted to glorious adulation. But that didn’t happen? More opportunities were created for companies like Citadel to make their own rules, to lessen the influence of America’s famed and prestigious open Markets of the New York Stock Exchange and to cloud the regulatory system with people who would look the other way instead of paying attention to what was going on.
None of this was the fault of just an inept executive office or a market maker who also paraded as a Hedge Fund, and one of the major hubs of Securities transactions. Bankers, Financial Institutions, retail investment firms who owned and operated the apps that retail utilized as those same retail firms passed along information to the hedge funds and market makers through PFOF to trade milliseconds ahead of retail to take their money and perhaps throw them a bone every now and again.,
It is not just the fault of countless news agencies backed by the hedge funds posting hundreds of articles as to why people should not buy AMC or video game Stock. Which looking back has become very suspicious and yet, it is you, my generation or my parents’ generation doing all of this to keep the lid on my children’s’ generation from winning in a game that you built. A game you plan to win.
No! This is a coordinated effort of one or two generations to steal the future from generations to come while those future generations remain blissfully ignorant of the rug that was being pulled out from underneath them.
The Crime: Like stealing candy from children As it stands, retail is buying and the Market Makers, lets call them opportunists, are selling. Do you want more shares of company A? We got More shares of Company A. Do not worry about the Float, there is plenty to go around. Don’t worry about regulations or naked shorts, or illegal synthetic shares, we’ll get those shares to you in T+3 don’t worry. Yet they did not. The Fail to delivers keep piling up. AMC alone was up 2400% at one point.8 That is ok, we got you. This all on the frontend, on the back end, however.
Marrying shorts to puts and playing the options markets against bets that the demand would taper off once the market settled, but it didn’t, did it? Someone found the game. They found the Video game shorts, and that’s when things get interesting. The crime is not the discovery, although Hedge funds, Government officials demonizing the little cat hanging on for dear life who simply cornered the market on shorts and decided to invest in a failing video game retailer with a complicit board of directors allowing it to fail rendering its stakeholders and shareholders powerless to stop it are all crimes is part of the story.
On January 21, 2021, the panic started to set in as a short squeeze was imminent and the price started to rise from Video games $17.25 valuation to over $500 on the lit exchanges. On Dark pools and other exchanges not seen by Investors and the public it is rumored to be higher. January 28, 2021, they hit the panic button on the “BUY” button and that gave the time for Hedge Funds and entities working behind the scenes to renegotiate terms, reset their positions, and move forward.
It might be considered the greatest HEIST in the history of the American Stock Exchange Markets. Stealing millions, billions from Investors and retail investors alike in unrealized gains from a perfectly legal short squeeze and glamourizing it as potentially postponing a crash of the markets and fiscal system of epic proportion instead of the crime it was.
The Pickle: There is only one way out and that is through more Crime For months, Agencies and Media have put out story after story that a short squeeze was squoze and there is no chance that retail would recover for instance the story “The Short Squeeze Is Now a Retail Rout” Barrons, February 2, 2021, is just one of many articles and as time went on, the narrative that the short squeeze was over went on a rollercoaster of circumspection as more crafty redditors who took up the call dug up evidence the shorts were being hidden Brazil Puts. Billions of them.
The Hedge Funds who shorted video games and AMC and others had not covered any of their shorts. They simply moved them off the exchange creating billions of Synthetics and utilizing trading platforms and institutions to borrow the very shares they were making to short again and drive the price of the stocks down unbeknownst to the retail investors or so they thought.
Investors soon found the proof in the pudding as they realized that institutions, they were trading with were borrowing their shares and shorting the stock down utilizing ladder attacks. Although the stories were written that Hedge Funds were clueless about this ladder attack strategy, “Wallstreetbets Conspiracy Theorists Claim a ‘Short Ladder Attack’ Brought Down Video Games. Short Sellers Have No Idea What They’re Talking About,” Institutional Investor, February 03, 2021. It began to catch more attention as redditors educated in finance became aware of the misdirection and coupled with Jim Cramer’s complicit and damning video where he converses with a media person about how he would manipulate stocks to short in order to drive the price down found solace in their thesis. The Squeeze was not over and the institutions short on the stocks, the Market makers, Hedge Funds, etc. had no choice but to commit more crime to keep their positions a secret.
“A lot of times when I was short at my hedge fund... I would create a level of activity beforehand that could drive the futures,” Cramer said in the video. “It doesn’t take much money.” He added that it is a “very quick way to make money, and it’s very satisfying.”
Yet even with all the dirty Tricks there were countless articles denying, arguing, even flat out gaslighting to discredit redditors who did their homework and bought more video games and AMC stocks. With the Congressional Financial Services Committee inquiry, the situation had to be contained. Controlled. For hours and days of questions being raised by representatives Citadels Kenneth Griffin, Robinhoods Vladmir Tenev, Melvin Capitals Gabriel Plotkin and even the Roaring Kitty Keith Gill himself, they talked about the broken buy button and ignored dark pools, synthetic shares, and naked shorting but focused instead on the events of January 28, 2021, which nearly brought the markets down.
Even though regulation after regulation came through approval after approval to monitor and curtail shorting in the stocks, the imminent short squeeze that investors had hoped would come, stolen from them when the buy button was taken away still has not come. Nothing has changed. Naked Shorting exists as it’s been conceded by Melissa Lee on CNBC and the confirmation of these stocks being shorted with FTD’s over 2400% makes it clear that criminal activity is ongoing flying in the face of regulators at the SEC and the dark pools driving the stock sales while companies profit off retail investors and the New York Stock Exchange is simply a rotting corpse of a façade presumptuous in its auspicious thin veil yet still vibrant gilded lily white example of American superiority over matters of Capitalist success and prosperity.
Square One, again: Because the emperor has no clothes It is January 26, 2022, and as I write this, I am aghast with the fact that our current President who currently has BlackRocks former Executive Brian Deese as his top economic advisor has not made any comments regarding this situation and has ignored it.
Although there may be an unproven hypothesis of correlation between Administration’s silence and BlackRocks recent purchases in the last few months of nine million shares of AMC of which seven million of may have been used to short AMC stock recently to keep the Short Hedge Funds and institutions from having to purchase millions of shares to cover Calls in Options that expired on January 21, 2021. Thus, confirming speculation from redditors for the extremely excessive drops in the stock price of AMC from a high of $36 to $15.94 in so short of a 30 day span can only mean that BlackRock may be complicit indirectly with the manipulation of the markets. Giving financial institutions a way to short the stocks even though the shareholders are holding strong according to the most recent AMC On Balance Volume charts.
Lately quite a few hypotheses have become known concerning the current state of our markets and our economy and one thing is for absolutely certain. We live in a time of unfair advantage for Market Makers and Hedge Funds over the average investor. We also live in a time when those same individuals with that unfair advantage take advantage of the system and manipulate it to their benefit Ignoring the rules of a short squeeze, failure to delivers, and T+2 and stealing the very lifeblood of fiscal necessity from Americans who use their meager allowances amidst a surge of inflation to purchase housing, food, clothing and support their families. Those same individuals ignore the rules that were put in place to protect investors and thus bringing the Markets to very precarious position they are in now 14 years after worthless Residential backed Mortgage Securities wiped out financial institutions and brought the U.S. Economy to a screeching halt in 2008.
Yet even after all of these lessons, we have learned nothing.
We have employed the very villains that we protest and bring them into the very confidence of the secrets behind the secrets to manage the matters of our Presidential executive endeavors and our Legislative purpose. We take their honey poisoned words into our confidence complying with their suggestions as they pillage our fiscal systems into oblivion before they plan to lift off into the wild blue yonder on their mayo-colored private jets.
Which brings me to the point I am about to make.
The point: Fool me once shame on me, Fool me Twice, shame on you. “Without a strong economic voice, a middle class is powerless to take it’s government to task.”-Dambisa Moyo
The 2008 fiscal crisis is considered the tinder and the wood of the current revolution. Should this situation with the markets continue and somehow be prolonged to the point that Shorts eventually cover utilizing methods that are considered illegal and off limits for the average investor, you may as well accept that the false start that occurred in January 28, 2021, and everything that has transpired since to be the gasoline on that tinder.
In her Book Ms. Moyo Ph.D. in Economics quotes this: ‘Paul Collier Postulates that the more a country is ethnically divided, the greater the prospect of civil war.’
What happens when a country fiscally bankrupts it’s citizens out of greed and ethnically divides them? What happens when you allow the average American to be cheated, swindled and in the process of that crime bring the fiscal system down with-it affecting millions of Americans while painting a façade that the reason the markets have failed is due to a pandemic instead of acknowledging manipulation and criminal activity on the part of the institutions who are entrusted with the fair and free operation of our markets?
You should consider very carefully what course of action you take, and you should consider that it is not just my generation you will be pressing into the coming recession or possibly the complete collapse of our fiscal system if you choose villains over truth. It will be my children’s generation and their children’s and if they take you to task by force, I will stand idly by and watch them do it when you finally commit an act that sparks the flame of revolution.
Civilization is only civilized as long as everyone who is entrusted with a duty plays their part with admirable integrity. When that integrity is compromised and laid out for all to see, it does not matter what force you bring to bare to stop it, you will not be able to kill it and eventually, the world will find a way to right itself.
The short Squeeze is the logical step. Liquidating the Hedge Funds is the logical step. Voting into office individuals with no connections to the financial institutions that have corrupted our economic system is the logical step.
To those of you in the FED, the SEC, DTCC, and other organizations helping the Short Hedge Funds, Market Makers, and individuals who created this mess thinking that it is the right thing to keep things going. Shame on all of you because you are horribly misguided in thinking the short term value will outweigh the long term consequence.
To those of you who are trying to build a better future for our markets. Good Luck. By the grace of everything good, understand that liquidating institutions who act dishonorably and violate the trust of the people to whom they have been entrusted is good business sense.
Take a note from Muhammad Yunus, a Bangladeshi national awarded the Nobel Peace prize for his work on restructuring financing in Bangladesh revolutionizing thinking on how to lend to the poorest, and most rural segments of of countries.
The lesson: The power is in the people. It always has been.
In case you didn't know? All that money is going to have to go back to financial institutions in some form or another and be absorbed by the greater economy. You won't just lose it. It won't just disappear. It will boost our economy, and economies around the world bringing us out of a dark few years. A Mother of all short squeezes is good for business. Keep that in mind.
